Experience and Education

Myles Hassler is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Atlanta, Georgia.  Licensed since 1990, Myles works with individuals and couples providing general counseling services, relationship counseling, intimacy enrichment, life transition counseling, sex therapy, D.U.I. evaluations, and SAP evaluations for the Department of Transportation (DOT). Additionally, Myles has a thorough background in EAP (employee assistance programs) service delivery.  He fulfilled his undergraduate study in psychology at the University of Illinois – Springfield, Illinois, campus (formerly Sangamon State University).  His earned his Master of Science degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1987.


Background and Certifications

With his exceptionally extensive counseling background, Myles brings a broad history of workplace experience and clinical expertise to his clients.  In addition to his licensure as a professional counselor, he has acquired certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), and passed the training and rigorous exam requirements to become a designated Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for the Department of Transportation (DOT).  He has considerable experience in impaired professionals’ programming as well as in human resources management and organizational dynamics.  Myles also spent a 20 year tenure as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). Though he has retired his CEAP certification, he maintains qualified expertise in the field.

Diversity and Sensitivity

Myles’ personal history is culturally diverse, which enhances his effectiveness and respect as a clinician serving multicultural populations. He completed his practicum and internship at a county mental health agency here in Atlanta, Georgia, earning experience in hospital emergency room assessment, intervention, and placement.  He is versed in a wide variety of clinical issues: general mood disorders, sex therapy, couples’ counseling (including open relationship dynamics), marital/divorce/affair recovery dynamics, brief therapy, stress, anxiety, depression, workplace dynamics, and  substance abuse – to name a few.  Myles proudly serves a significant gay/lesbian, LGBT client population in the Atlanta Metro area.Druidchasegeese
